How to lose body fat percentage and drop a pant size?

I am 5' 8" and currently weigh 140 pounds, I am a sophomore in college and would like to get back to my size from before freshman year started. Unfortunately I gained the freshman fifteen, I used to weigh 125 and was a size 2. Now I am around a size 4-6. I have been trying to lose the weight for months and months. I did everything from calorie counting to doing 9 weeks of Insanity and now I am just extremely frustrated and insecure. My clothes don't fit and i have been eating around 1200-1300 calories a day and working out when I can, which is usually 3-4 times a week. I want so bad to feel confident and reduce my body fat percentage and get back down to a size 2 again! As much as i'd like to weigh 125 again I would rather reduce my body fat than just focus on the number on the scale. Every time I try to do clean eating I end up failing miserable since I am confined to dorm food. Any suggestions on what I can do and how long it will take would be much appreciated.

How are you tracking your calories? Are you weighing and measuring, using a scale?

Sorry can't help with your questions. It's just that it upsets me so much when I read size 2 or size 0. I'm in australia and the smallest size is an 8, they may go down to a size 6 but the only people that would fit in a 6 are prepubescent kids :-(

    Sizing is different between countries.
    I US I am a 52 jackedt..in UK I am a 64.
Your Aus size 6 might be a 0 here..check it online.
  • Lifehacker just published an article on healthy eating when living in a dorm...it can be done.
And if not..at least workout to offset the cals...brisk walk between class, gym time, take the stairs, etc etc.
    Gonna take work.
  • I scan all my food with the mfp app and I track my calories and percentage of fat, protein, and carbs. Been doing it for a while and not seeing any results!!
