Should I up my calories?

Hi. I'm 5'3", female, 134lb want to get to 110lb (though may end up higher due to muscle gain).

I'm currently eating 1200 cals/day and exercising regularly. I do 5 gym classes a week (pump, attack, rpm) and take lots of long walks.

Do you think, considering my activity levels, that I should be eating more calories per day? Or because I'm petite is it okay to work out that much and eat that little without hampering fat loss? I'm getting toned and want to get fit so I don't want to work out any less.

Thanks.

I used a calculator (http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/) and it looks like your TDEE - Total Daily Energy Expenditure, the amount your body burns each day - is somewhere around 2100-2200 calories a day. I did factor in your exercise to get that number. I had to guess at your age, though, so it might be slightly off. But it should be a good starting point.

So, you should be eating 1600-1700 calories a day for weight loss of one pound a week. Since you're already petit I wouldn't recommend that you try to lose at a faster rate than that.

So long story short I would say yes, increase your calories :) Good luck!
