Your number one tip for getting off the couch?

We all want to get our workouts in. But sometimes, when I get home from work and have had supper, the couch is just soooo inviting, right?

So what is your favourite strategy for beating that evening coziness and getting down to business?

For me, it's changing into my workout clothes as soon as I get hone, before getting supper started. Mentally, that makes me feel like I'm on my way to the gym all afternoon. Staying on the couch is suddenly not an option.

    I go to the gym right from work because I know if I went home first, I wouldn't be motivated to go out again. So I became a member of a gym closer to my office. Beats the commuters rush home as well so there is less traffic after the gym :)

    Same here, if I don't do it as soon as is practically possible after getting in from work it doesn't happen. Once I sit down thats the end of me for the evening! Although I am thinking about challenging myself to pull out the treadmill when my favourite soap is on tv and just walking (to begin with) while watching that. This way I'll add another 2 hours of light cardio to my week as well as continuing with the JillianMichaels dvds that I'm currently doing.

    For me it's the same. I stay as far as possible away from the couch. Once I sit down, nothing and nobody can get me back up. :blushing: So I come home in the evening, change to my workout clothes and push it. I have lunch after that. This way it works best for me.

    For me it helped to have a friend who goes there with me - once i promised to meet her, i would simply go:)

    I do the same as well. But now I am able to squeeze in exercise 3 times a day. I work out first thing in the morning before the little one gets up, I go for a walk during my lunch break at work, and I sneak into the gym quickly before picking up my daughter after work. You don't have to exercise that many times, but I find it helpful to exercise when you know you will have peak energy, and go to the gym before you get home, if possible. It's easy to get discouraged from doing anything when you are in the comfort of your home. If you feel tired, don't beat yourself because your body may really need the rest that I am sure you desrve. Tomorrow is another day.
