Any opinions about the biggest loser workout? Does it actually work? I've been going at it for almost a week now (not weighing myself yet). I definitely feel the burn with the exercises, but want to know first hand experiences with it.

What are you looking for it to do?0

The Biggest Loser stuff is mostly for dropping the pounds fast. I think that is unrealistic and unhealthy.0

I just wanna know if it's a great workout that will burn the calories (eating healthy of course along with it ). I have the game for the wii.0

If you eat less than your body burns, you will lose weight regardless of what activity you're doing.0

There are several Biggest Loser workouts....I'm not familiar with the Wii one.
Exercise is mainly for fitness. Eating less.....is a far bigger piece of the puzzle than calories you might burn during a workout. MFP will give you some generous calorie burn estimates (be warned).
That said, any workout that challenges your current fitness level is a good thing. Cardio generally burns calories more than strength training....BUT that's not the main thing. Resistance training will help you keep lean muscle, is great for bone health. Cardio should build stamina.
You want something well rounded....upper, lower, abs, etc. Throw in some yoga if you are not very flexible.0 -

I have this for the Wii. I think its pretty decent, though admittedly I don't use it often.
Things I like:
You take a "test" as you start to figure out what your starting fitness level is. This helps the program to tailor to your abilities.
You can set your workouts for the amount of time you have- in 10 minute increments I think.
You can choose to increase the difficulty on any given day.
The programs have decent variety. I'm not a fitness expert by any means, but I do find it keeps my interest. You may switch from yoga-type moves to cardio to bodyweight exercises several times in the course of a workout.
Things that are wonky:
The scale. I ignore it, but mostly because its on carpet in my house and innaccurate, and because it doesn't seem to recognize time passed very well. If I don't use the program for 3 weeks but lose 5 pounds doing other things, it gets upset that I've lost weight too fast, thinking it was between daily workouts or something.
I dislike the trainer's voices. Annoying rhetoric that doesn't motivate me in the slightest.
Some of the exercises require you to put your remote in a pocket. And relies on that for movement and figuring out whether you do as you are supposed to. I've done a whole series of workouts and sometime none register because my pocket is blocking remote movement? DOn't know, but its easy to get the feedback wrong.
I have no concept of how many calories burned during this because its not really steady state, and not completely step-based either.
Overall, I like it. Its flexible, I can work up a decent heartrate and sweat, and I like the variety of exercises. Just use it for that. Ignore the recipes and calorie estimates it gives you for the exercises you've performed. Ignore the little meter that says whether you are doing it right or not, and just try to do it right for the sake of doing it right.
Hope that helps!!0
