I'd say Nay... Never done it before though0

I say yay, as it can get you out of your comfort zone and helps to be able to talk to a bunch of people with different backgrounds and such. Can help make you more comfortable in other situations.
I am glad I did it the once, but not sure if I would do it again. ... funny thing I am now with the organizer of the event and she didn't even take part, Lol You never know when or where you will meet someone unless you try.0 -

still sounds better then spending weeks or months talking to someone then being very disappointed when meeting them or vice versa0 -
If there's actual speed involved then yey - and let me know where it is :drinker:
otherwise? no friggin way.0 -
I'd give it a try.0

Sometimes you are spending way less than weeks. People got to facetime for confirmation on who you are talking to. There is too many crazies out in this world.0 -
I have a cousin that was heavily invested in it. For those people that work too much to get out, yeah. It's not like they're getting married on the spot. They have some TV show about that now, they use all these psychologists to pair people up and the day they meet is the day they marry. Crazy.0

online is online and speed dating is typically face to face.0 -
I feel like no sane person would ever do this. Maybe movie scenes with speed dating have jaded me.0

You be surprise that on meetup.com in DC the speed dating events usually get sold out for women to keep the ratio the same. They email me multiple of times to go.0 -
Never tried it, but back in the 70's and 80's I tried dating on Cocaine. Expensive as hell.0

I tried speed dating once about 13 years ago. Here's how it went:
1 - Met 12 men, had 5 minute convo with each one.
2 - I was interested in 2. Listed them on my response card and gave to speed dating organizer.
3 - Received an email that 1 of the men I was interested in, was also interested in me. Exchanged info.
4 - Man called me and asked me out to dinner, I accepted.
5 - Man arrived at my house, invited him in, sat on my couch and talked a bit.
6 - Realized he was only interested in a booty call and had no intention of going out on a date, kicked him out.
7 - He was a high school teacher. Turned out he once taught a girl I worked with. She told me about 6 months later that he had knocked up one of his students.
Can it be a good experience? I'm sure it can. Was it for me? Ummm...NO.0 -

well, you asked and I responded. I did say TYPICALLY speed dating is face to face. I know there was once (and probably is now) a site online for speed dating, but typically, they are in person.0 -
