Trying to get my steps

I am working with my Fitbit on keeping track of my calories burned/ used and calories eaten. My daily goal is to walk 10,000 steps daily. A Fitbit goal next for me is 20,000 in a day. I will be having a little bit of trouble with that. Hoping that it will only a couple of weeks as the last time I went on a walk I did something with my foot and fell. Have a level 2 ankle sprain. When my ankle gets better I will be working on my Gazelle. Just hoping that I can do other things to help burn calories till then.
