Been lurking long enough I guess, time to introduce myself.
I'm 41 (42 in Dec). I suffer from non alcoholic liver and kidney disease brought on by an auto immune disorder. Yeah, not fun. I also suffer from neuropathy in my feet/legs, so I walk with a cane and cannot drive.
Over the last 3 years my life has change a lot. I went from independent to dependent. I use to be able to drive and come and go as I please. Then I got what I thought was the flu, turns out I was in liver failure. Spent 6 weeks in the hospital and 5 months in a rehabilitation facility trying to build up strength and start walking again (I was wheelchair bound). With a lot of determination, here I am walking around my apartment (I live alone) caring for myself.
My cirrhotic liver is under control and functioning normally. But I've put on too much weight, lol.
Right now I'm at 184, not where my 6 docs want me. They want me around the 140ish range.
I'm struggling with setting up a meal plan that meets the guidelines set out by my doctors. They thought they were doing me a favor by just saying you need to be this weight....but u also have to watch the sodium....keep protein around this....fats around that......and fiber here. And put it into 6-8 meals a day. Have seen a nutritionist, not much help.
Sorry for rambling.
So here I am trying to figure out a meal plan. Trying to get motivated to exercise, I have 0 energy. Gosh, I can see how putting on weight is so much easier, lol.
I'm hoping to make some friends. Support each other. And help each other get to where were need to be. Need all the friends I can get right now, lol.
Happy mid-week everyone. Weekend will be here soon.

ETA- I'm also semi-vegetarian. Don't eat a lot of meats. Pretty much have cut out beef, pork and chicken which I'm not big on anyway.
