Anyone here for health more than weight loss?

I've been struggling since freshman year in high school to hit that "healthy balance". Sure the food I eat is typically healthy... but I either have been eating too little or too much. Since college started, it's been too much. Since the start of winter break, it's been WAY too much.
It seems, though, that this website is just what the dr. ordered. I needed a way of holding myself accountable for what I eat--and here it is! Is there anyone else out there who's just trying to figure out how to maintain weight?

There are a lot of people here that use the tools for awareness and maintenance. I have already reached me first goal weight, but am now shooting a bit lower, but certainly plan to use the tools to maintain after I reach this goal.

I am here for both. I never realized how badly I ate. It appears that the majority of my problem was with portion control. I haven't changed too much of what i eat, just the size.

    I am
Hoping though that by getting more healthy I might lose some weight along the way

I'm here to learn about nutrition so that I can better maintain my weight when I want and to lose when I want. I'm trying to get better at planning my meals, tracking my food intake and trying not to blow my calorie count in the evening at dinner.

Thanks, and good luck to you all
  • yep for me it's about learning to have a healthy lifestyle, tone up a bit, and be happier about myself. I don't actually have that much weight to lose, but I need to tone up for sure. I think that weight loss is more about healthy living and mindset than about actually losing weight.. The weight loss is kind of the side effect if that makes sense?

I've had years of treating my body badly (I was super skinny in highschool and while I was fit, I barely ate anything.. was rather extreme) and then started uni, discovered beer and gained a good... 20lbs. Now I'm trying to find the middle ground :-)

Yep, that's pretty much my story. I strongly believe that the numbers are insignificant, it's all about how someone feels in his/her own body. Whether it requires weight loss, gain, or toning... whatever it takes to feel excellent about life ^_^
