Hello! I am Emily, and I'm new to MFP. It is going well so far, and I hope to improve my overall health and reach my fitness goals here. I'm currently dealing with a lot of stress, and I'm relying heavily on MFP to help keep me on the right track. So far so good!

Hello, My name is Julie and I am a 53 year old female. I have always been active, healthy, however I have also been a caretaker and my nutrition I have struggled with for years. I could go for 2 days not eating then eat to much. I have fought with this behavior my whole life. As a result my weight has crept up to 50lbs overweight. At the gym yesterday I finally got on the scale and cried. One instructor say me and said well you don't look like it. Well when you can't get into your skinny clothes and more important my blood sugar has crept up to borderline along with borderline cholestrol. I want to LIVE TO BE 100 It doesn't matter because I feel upset, menopausal! and looking at my size 10 clothes in my closet when I now am in 14/16. I now was just dx with arithritis in my right hip. so much for a marathon. Pool time. I have got to get a handle on this once and for all. I remember how happy I was even in my 40s. Honestly this started to get worse as my partner of 16 years got older and sicker. He should be a beacon of strength for me as he is surviving cancer for 20 years. I have put his health before mine for so many years. TOSCA RENO is my hero.

thanks for listening and nice to meet you all.

    Howdy ya'll,
UK based, 5'9" 40yo male to female transsexual.
Long term diabetic with many health problems, main one being nerve damage in hands, feet and back.
I have always been big, when younger was up to 23 stone, now down to 16stone 7pounds which is my lowest since I was around 12yo.
Turned 40 this month and thought since I have my diabetes under perfect control, and lower now than i been in a long long time, weight wise, I'd have 1 last try at the sex change.
But I have a point to prove to myself, if i can't get down to a healthy weight then I don't go ahead with my transition, not because I want to look beautiful or anything vein like that, but simply because I know the sex op is a major 6+ hour op, and if one day I ever make it to that stage, don't want to be refused due to weight problems.

And it should be easier before hormones rather than while on them to get weight off.

Plus I no support at home, so need to be as healthy as I can try to be to cope with pain afterwards on top of the pain of my nerve damage.

It is said life starts at 40, so hoping with one last dedicated attempt, mine starts now... :)

Always happy to be friends with anyone, and always happy to help with diabetes related issues, as well as anything transgender related.

    Blessed be to all

    Leslie

    Hi Everyone,
My name is Pete and I started my new healthy lifestyle about a year ago after a breakup. I got into running and so far lost about 50lbs. My goal is to lose another to be around 180lbs. This has been the hardest thing I have every attempted to do but when I step on the scale I only get motivated to keep on going!

    Hello!
I am 22 girl from Bulgaria,5'3 (or 160 cm,the European metric system is different xDD ) ,around 110lbs(48-50 kilos)
Why am I here? To look for a balance...

Sport is like a drug to me,but I am too busy to choose something different than indoor activity(I like hitting the gym,but workouts outside are waaay funnier.. pity I don't have enough free time when the weather is fine)
    Unfortunately,my diet is a nightmare..
    Carbs,carbs...carbs everywhere. *such a junkie*
That's why I am not satisfied with the way my body looks(my mood also fluctuate)
So I decided to take the journey and to become one happy, healthy person!
    And here am I . ^^
    Wish you the best,people.
