What should I do

I'm pretty much at my goal weight.. I have fluctuations of about 5 pounds but pretty much am there. I run 3-4x a week and do DVD's 3 days a week. I am wanting to lean out and have better muscle definition so am wanting to start lifting weights, not just using the dumbbells along with the DVD. I keep hearing about stronglifts and am interested but is it enough? Is there a better routine I should look into?

  • I got the BodySpace app on my phone and I've been doing the Jamie Eason LiveFit 12 week program, and I love it. It was a great way to start with weights and I've learned a lot and my muscle tone is DEFNITELY better. I looked into stronglifts too but I feel like, in hindsite, I'm glad I didn't because I didn't have the best core strength when I started. I feel like now after doing the Jamie Eason program, I have the strength and practice with form to be able to do Stronglifts if I wanted to.

    strong lifts
    starting strength
    new rules of lifting
strong curves (if you are interested in a booty focused program)

all of them are GREAT options.

if you don't want to go to a gym specifically and you're looking for at home work
    check

    strength unbound
    you are your own gym
    convict conditioning
    body by you

it has to be progressive loading of the muscles in order to efficiently challenge and grow.
