In denial

Hi everyone,

I think I am in denial about my weight gain. I still think I look "good", but I know I can look better. However, the scale majorly disagrees with me. I am currently 196 and want to be in the 160s, where I looked and felt my best in the past. Since I have gained weight, I stopped buying pants that aren't leggings or some sort of stretchy yoga/athletic pant. I really don't want to buy pants in such a big size. I think I'm also in denial that I have gained weight even though the scale screams it at me. I avoid buying number sized clothing at all cost, but especially pants.
I'm also wondering if this is why I have plateaued for so long (since Thanksgiving 2013). I have gained and lost the same 3 or so pounds since then. I'm wondering if having "fat pants" will give me the kick I need.

Can anyone relate? Any advice?

Stretch is fat's best friend. Wear clothes that are a little snug. It's harder to overeat.

Do not - DO NOT - put your head in the sand over your size. Know it. Own it.

Decide if you want to weigh 200 pounds or not and then take action to be what you really want to be.

We are approaching the eating time of year. Make your plan to indulge or refrain from indulging and go forth to do (and enjoy doing!) the thing you intend to do! :D

    Good luck!

(And if you choose to indulge, have one of those Reese's pumpkins for me, will ya?) :)

    Hi there
I think till you hit that point where the denial can be overcome, try exercise as much as possible, and eat healthily.
Then when your ready, then tackle the lifestyle changes.

I believe in wearing clothes that fit properly, regardless of the size. As far as style... That's all personal preference. If you like stretchy and feel like you look your best in them.... Go for it!

Weight or size does not mean you can't feel comfortable and good about yourself and even think you look good.

Just make a choice. You decide what weight you want to be. You decide what kind of life you want to live. Then eat and exercise according to your goals. Health and/or beauty is not determined by a number on a scale or on a label in a pair of jeans. You can stay at your current weight or you can lose the last 30-40 pounds. You can wear whatever size you want or whatever style you want. It boils down to you making a choice.
