I just joined. I've got a lot of work to do. I am 47 and weigh 288 lbs. I'm excited about getting started. I want to share in your successes and hope that you will share in mine.

I believe heavily in goals. My first goal is to lose 10 lbs in the month of January. I am going to log all of my meals and snacks, play racquetball (been playing for a while) and start swimming.

I am open to both suggestions and harsh reality checks.

Peace.

Welcome!!!! You've come to a great place for motivation and support. My advice (this works best for me) is to plan out your day either the night before or in the morning, all food and exercise right there for you to see. For me, I'm less likely to cheat if I've planned it all out. That doesn't work for everyone. Find what works best for you and stick with it. You're on your way!!!! Best of luck to you! :drinker:

    jptmemphis,
I just joined also and like you, I have much work to do. I am at 240 lbs. and am so ready to do this. I like the goal of 10 lbs in January (and every month thereafter) and maybe we can bounce ideas off each other. I am posting all food and exercise and my long term goal is to keep this journal for the entire year... and when 12-31-11 rolls around be 100 lbs lighter.
