Balancing everything out...

So I am wondering this and maybe you guys can help me figure this out....If you eat bad one day and you go over your daily calorie limit, but then you exercise hard the next day but don't eat these exercise calories, does this balance everything out?! Like to be more specific, say you went to a party and ate a lot of desserts and guestimate that it was 500 calories (extra than your daily goal), but you burn 500 calories the next day and don't eat these calories, does that balance everything out and put you back on track?!

Yeah! I think the weekly total is more important than daily, as far as calories eaten and exercise goes. Some days I'm just hungrier than others. And I'm not going to force myself to eat other days when I'm not hungry if I'm not at my calorie goal. Other days make up for it for sure!
