Processed food

Is lunch meat considered processed food? I eat it almost everyday for lunch. Or is there something else I should be eating. Any replies would be help. Thanks

Very highly processed. Go for the real thing. Grill up what ever it is and slice it yourself. You've save yourslef tons of sodium and preservatives. Check out Clean Eating magazine for some great ideas.0

Yes, any thing not in its natural form is processed. The processed deli meats are loaded with salt and sometimes other chemicals.
Roast a chicken or trukey breast and slice it up for sandwiches. Even natural peanut butter is good (just higher fat value)
Tuna salad or salmon salad made with lowfat mayo is good too. Or there's always a couple slices of bacon (salty, but not too bad if you just use two pieces)0 -
I know lunch meats like Oscar Mayer are highly processed, but what about the meats you get sliced at the deli? I like to get the good, organic meats. The roast beef doesn't look like it's super processed, but I'm not sure about turkey...0

Maple Leaf actually has a cleaner line, with no preservatives or chemicals, just the meat, salt, and cane sugar, that I use sometimes. Obviously not as good for you as the real thing, but a good alternative if you find always preparing the meat to be a hassle. It's a little pricey though.0
