when do you start eating your work out cals?

So I may or may not have time to go to the gym tonight. I've planned out my food day and I'll have eaten exactly 1207 cal without going to the gym.

I don't want to eat my workout cals if I can't make it to the gym tonight, but I also don't want to be scrambling at 9pm for a 300 cal snack.

Any help or advice on the maybe/maybe not gym days?

Tough one--I usually work out in the mornings--because I know otherwise I'm liable to find an excuse not to!--so don't have that problem too often.

Maybe split the difference? Eat an extra 150 calories? That way, you'll only be either short or over by 150, which isn't bad.

That is a tough one. I face it to - on my scheduled work out days any one of a million things can go wrong and I can miss out.

What I do is eat as fast as I can after my workout. Last night I had my last snack at 11pm! I start with as much protein as I can do aid my muscles and then fill in the blanks!

It is such a game that I think you have to take it on a day by day basis and see how you feel. Last night I wrestled with the late night eating vs. not eating my work out calories...eating won!!
