The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

One of my all time favorite westerns. I remember seeing that movie on the big screen when I was a kid. Mom dropped us off at a local theater and then came back to pick us up. "Mom, Clint Eastwood, Blondie, was the good guy, he shot this guy and and and then he shot that guy and another guy or two dozen or more. He would capture an outlaw, turn him in to the sheriff to get the reward, then shoot the rope so the bad guy would get away and then he would turn the outlaw in for another reward." Mom, "doesn't sound like such a good guy!"
I suppose after 40 years or so that Blondie wasn't such a good guy. Well compared to Lee Van Cleef, the bad, and Ely Wallach, the Ugly, he seemed pretty good.
What the heck does this have to do with losing weight!? Welllllllllllllllll, not a whole lot. What I am thinking is we all have goals. At some point in striving for those goals, the good, we ask ourselves is it worth it, the bad. I have been in the middle of some of the most worthy tasks and have asked myself that very same question. I studied for and passed the CPA exam last year. I failed on my first 3 attempts. I studied as much as 20 hours a day. At times I had to ask myself is it worth it. Would anyone really care if I gave up? I was worn out, stressed, and the task seemed endless.
As humans that is what we do daily, we weigh the good with the bad. That's how we know what good and bad are. We compare them to each other. While I have been doing well on my weight loss journey I have still asked that question. I have seen many others do the same. Is it worth it? They don't say it out loud. You can gleam it from their writing though. I sure cannot look into the hearts and minds of every individual but this is not bad. This is the individual sorting things out. Maybe seeking confirmation for an answer they already know.
The Ugly, I don't see anything ugly here. Remember, it's just a movie.

LOL! I think I have the good, the bad and the ugly within myself. As I go through on this weight loss journey I find I have to balance all of those forces within. I want to think the good will always win, but it doesn't. After all this isn't a movie.0
