Spring kitchen scale

We do have a kitchen scale. It is like this one
http://www.leeners.com/canning/store/kitchen-scale.shtml

It is not digital doesn't tare.

I know a digital one wouldn't be very expensive, but this is what I have for now.

Is this good enough for what I need?

    It wont be quite as accurate and will be bit cumbersome not being able to tare - but will do the job reasonably well for the time being.

    Certainly better than no scale at all.

    Digital ones really are very cheap - mine was under $20 (australian) from Target or similar place.

    Thanks. That really isn't too expensive. I am sure I will end up buying one.

    I don't like it (it seems flimsy) and doesn't have other features. My husband wants me to try it out first, before buying new.

    Lori;

    This one looks great, works very well (tare is a godsend and grams + ounces saves a ton of time converting).

    Buy it for HIM for xmas and "give" it to him early <g> (always works for my bride)

    digital scales are not that expensive. I bought one for $30 bucks from amazon a few years back. I bought it to weigh puppies, now I use it to weigh food. it does tare and is a really nice scale and not killer expensive at all
