Not so new but at the same time yeah I'm new

I used to use myfitnesspal like 3 years ago and after losing my grandpa I became depressed and gained the weight I'd loss and then some. I got on here today and was shocked to still see my old goals. Man, if only I'd kept going. I was a good 100 lbs lighter than I am now and only had about 50 lbs to reach my goal.

But anyways, I'm over 300 lbs now and enough is enough. I'm sick of not being able to fit into stuff/places and always being tired. Also, I'm sure if I keep down this path I'll soon start having heart problems and diabetes. I got a gym membership last month and I've started seriously working out. I've only lost 5 lbs after working out for a month so I must still be eating too much. That's why I got on here. I need to keep myself from overeating. Plus the weight loss community I used to use is gone so I need a new community to help me stay motivated and answer my silly questions.
