Banana chocolate porridge

This morning when I was considering what to put in my porridge (despite living in Scotland, plain porridge with salt has never been top of my breakfast list) I came up with this delicious creation, and while I think something with more seeds or grains might be better for every day, I thought I'd share this, as the calories are lower than I expected.

30g Porridge Oats
170ml of water (I like my porridge thick, you could use 200ml)
10g dark chocolate chips
5g maple syrup
1 small banana

1) Chop up your banana and put it in the bottom of your bowl.
2) Make your porridge (stir oats and water over a medium heat until it reaches the desired consistency)
3) Cover the bananas with the porridge
4) Top with chocolate chips and maple syrup.

I've got aerial silks and trapeze training later this morning, so hoping this will give me plenty of energy.

I have this for breakfast pretty often. Love it!

I usually throw in some chia seeds and a dash of vanilla protein powder for creaminess and flavour.
