Boot Camp Classes?

I'm new to classes at the gym, I'm loving them, but I find that whenever I want to try a new one I haven't done before I get pretty nervous. So far, I've been doing Body Step, RIPPED, and Body Pump. I really like all 3 of those classes.
I want to try a Boot Camp Class and a Cycle class but I'm really intimidated by them for some reason. Can anyone give me any tips/pointers to help me get over my fear of these classes? If anyone has done them, what are they like? Boot Camp makes me nervous because I tend to get winded easily, but I can make it through the RIPPED and step class just fine.
Thanks, Just need some extra motivation here, based on my gym's schedule if I added one of these it would be a great boost to my routine

i understand the feeling. i get a little intimidated going to my gym's yoga class. one time i almost didn't go because they had just started and i was outside the door... but i went in, and no one paid me any mind.
just go. it's not as bad as you think, and you're probably not the only person their for the first time. everyone else is either concentrating on themselves, or the instructor.0 -
I have taken both. I finally did cycling for the first time yesterday after being at my gym for over a year! Like you I was feeling too intimidated. Glad I finally did it. The instructor set me up and I went at my own pace. No pressure. No one even payed attention to me. Boot camp is always different. The instructor is really creative. Sometimes I can't keep up, but I do the best I can and it's ok. Try them and then decide. I always say I have to try a class 2 times before I make a decision.0

I jut started going to a boot camp class at my gym. It's very crowded, fast paced, and intimidating. Last week, I fell during a step exercise (teacher called me out about it in front of everyone) and couldn't follow the foot work. But it was fine cuz I really don't give a * what anyone thinks of me there. I'm there to work out. So just go for it and be respectful of the people in class but don't worry about how you'll look.0

Thanks for all of the replies, I know I need to just jump out of my shell and try one, both cycle and boot camp are offered tomorrow so maybe I'll try boot camp first. That one scares me the most0

I felt the same way about bootcamp but it wasn't that bad. Everyone is focused on what they're doing and not what you're doing. The bootcamp I attend has stations set up. You do one station for a predetermined amount of time and then you rotate to the next one. It's so fast paced that you don't have time to look around at what everyone else is doing.
eta: After awhile the same people were showing up so we kinda got to know each other and after that it was really fun.0 -
I took just started Bootcamp. Day 1 I went up to the instructor and told her I'd never done this class, would be in the back, and just to ignore me if I couldn't keep up. I think that had her offering up more modifications that day. Most things I got through, but the repeat circuits had me really slowing down.
My biggest problem is our 3 Bootcamp instructors all teach it so differently. Some use weights, while others say there should never be weights in Bootcamp. One does it 95% strength, while another does about 90% cardio. Some do stations and some don't. This has been really frustrating, because I don't know what to expect and sometimes feel like I'm wasting my time there.0 -
Well I just got back from the Boot Camp class and I have to say I loved it. Boy it was TOUGH though! I'll definitely go back. Thanks for the motivation0
