Hi everyone,
A little background on me: I'm currently 22, about to finish college within a year. Going way back, like beginning of gradeschool back, I used to be a skinny child. 2nd grade and on I blew up like a balloon, and stayed this way throughout high school, and the first year and a half or so of college. At my max, I was 5'8", 220 lbs. could be worse, but could have been a lot better too. I worked a third shift job that had me walking around and lifting for 8 hours at a time, and I went from 220, down to 165, but I didn't do it on purpose. Because I took it for granted, I grew complacent. I've sat at this 168-172 range for the last 2 years or so, and am still sitting at a (roughly) 25% body fat, so there's some work to be done still. My self image, and getting used to being obese through 90% of my academic career (among other things) has really done a number on my social life and self confidence. But at the same time, the unintentionally self-imposed solitary confinement has taught me to understand what goes along with the "don't settle for anything less", for better or worse. I'm a light hearted person, but I take my goals and desires very seriously, and seeing as I've made it this far without any real "support net", I won't let anything stand in my way.
My motivation? Oddly specific, I want to do 2 things, 3 technically. 1) I want to look good in a suit. 2) I want to be able to conquer a rock climbing wall and 3) Daniel Craig as James Bond, nuff said people. I want to get around 11-12% BF.
I'm primarily planning on using bodyweight exercises, but I do love me some kettlebell too. I'm interested in home workouts, and I refuse to rely on there being a gym nearby for weights and things like that. I'm getting ready to build myself a pull up and dip rig, so I'll have, in my opinion, everything I need.
It's gonna be interesting folks! I'm counting macros, 1g protein per lb of lean bodyweight, .4g fat per lb of LBM, and the balance is carbs. I don't have my exercise list on me at the moment, but I'll post later. This is a simple plan I'm sticking to. Tough to say the least, but simple.
Wish me luck, and I look forward to contributing!
