I am trying so hard getting back into fitness I am 35 pounds overweight from where I have started. Before pregnancy i have lost 60Ibs and I am trying to get back down how I was before I am breastfeeding at the moment. I get so down on my self about my body and the weight gain and I am trying to think better about myself I just need some encouragement and would like to also hear if other women ever gone through this.

Awwww you are most definitely not alone! I ma 4 months postpartum and am breastfeeding. I had a very fit pregnancy (kettlebells 3x a week and long uphill walks with toddler in the pushchair up until the day I had my baby daughter). I gained 24 pounds during pregnancy (started off normal range,,,had just got to my goal weight before finding out I was pregnant - go figure!) and have 14 pounds left to lose now. Breastfeeding has given me a crazy appetite which was out of control for the first 3 months and only now, has it calmed down. Don't be so hard on yourself, you only gave birth a month ago!
You did it before so you know you can do it again. You got this!0 -
I had a baby 3 months ago. I have never been heavy and walked 3 miles everyday during my pregnancy. Now that she is here, I am finding it really hard to find the motivation to work out. I am a little depressed becuase for me, I am sloppy, very untoned. She doesn't sleep through the night so I have a hard time waking up early to go workout and have severe anxiety right now being away from her so it's hard to make myself go after work. She also cires a lot, which makes it hard to workout while I'm with her. I'm finding that the hardest step is definitely the first step. I bought a yoga DVD becuase I'm interested in doing it and i can do it at home and not have to leave her. I think taking this small step is gooing to help me get back into working out because once I see my body starting to tone, my motivation will def increase! I am breastfeeding as well, and they say follow your hugner cues. I just need to make sure I'm eating healthy small portions instead of diving in to whatever I want. I always feel so bad afterwards but can't seem to get that in check.
Just know, you aren't alone0 -
I did MFP after my last was born, it was a great help. (I'm doing it all over again, lol). A couple of tips for post-partum:
1. Give yourself time! It took 9 months to put it all on, it's not going to come of in just a few weeks. Not only that, but you now have a baby to take care of, which can make anything a bit more challenging. As always, set reasonable goals and stick with them.
2. Make sure you're fully recovered! Don't try to jump back into exercising after just a few weeks. Generally, it's best to wait until your doctor clears you (6 weeks), but mild exercise a few weeks before then can be okay if you make sure to listen to your body and not overdo it. I also think it's best to eat at maintenance for those first 6 weeks, as your body needs the calories for recovery (and you may lose weight anyway).
3. Make sure you're eating enough! This is especially important when breastfeeding. Log your breastfeeding (it's in the food database) and eat those calories.
4. Embrace your new body! I am full term with my 5th child, and I can honestly say that my body changed a bit every time. You may not get the "girlish figure" again. You may carry your weight in different areas. You may look good at a higher weight than before. Don't compare your body now (and your progress) to your body before kids. (Please note, I don't mean that you can't get a great body again!! You really can, but it may not be exactly how you envisioned before kids).
And try not to feel down on yourself for not "bouncing back" right away. Your body has just done an amazing thing. Eat a moderate deficit and exercise for your goals, but don't get discouraged if things go a bit differently than you expected, or if your timeline is different from someone else's. We are all amazing women, remember that!!0 -

That's a really great post. Thanks.
Also - just a note - the app no longer allows negative calories so you can't log your BFing on the app. It still works on the website. I have contacted MFP about this. They say it was a glitch and will fix it. :indifferent:
And 5 kids!! You are awesome. I can't imagine more than one at this point. :drinker:0
