Okay so I just finished my lunch and my Food Tracker says I'm already over my fiber intake for the day... My max is only at 14 grams that just doesn't seem like enough fiber. Should I increase it?

Thanks!

Yep. MFP sets it way too low for some odd reason.

That's one of the most obvious flaws with MFP's defaults - they set fiber way too low! regardless of calorie intake, adults are recommended to get 25-35 g of fiber per day. This is one of the things I customized on my goals page.

Don't worry about it! I routinely go over my fibre by a ton. I think the average adult is supposed to have about 25 grams daily, anyway. If you're starting from 0 fibre and amping up you could run into a bit of constipation, but if you're used to it or edging up slowly there is nothing to worry about (as far as I know!)
  • Thank you! I feel much better. I hated seeing the red negative number on my food tracker. LOL

Yes. Your daily intake should be 25 to 35 gms per day. Ignore the red negative number, it's actually a good thing for fiber intake.
