Coasting off diet...

I've lost 12 lbs and am happy with my measurements (went from size 4/6 to a size 2). I started at 141 lbs and am now 129. It's definitely noticeable at my size and took me nearly 3 months. I'm thinking of maybe losing 2 extra lbs for "insurance" but very slowly and then going into maintenance. I was already very active before I started but my diet was entirely junk food. I plan of keeping my activity level exactly the same but what should I do about food. Currently I'm eating about 2000 cals a day and I will probably need about 2500 to maintain, as I'm very active. Before the diet, I was eating 2800 per day and I'm 5'6.

You must take health diet and please avoid junk food because junk food will only give you a taste and fill your stomach but it will not give you power, strength and energy to your body. You must adopt some healthy diet which results best for your whole life and also keep your body fit and strong.

I would slowly start adding calories back and monitor your scale once a week to find out what your maintenance level is. Seeing as you are at 2000 calories now try eating at 2200 calories. Also as has already been said avoid the junk food as well. You can treat yourself occasionally though as long as you fit it into your calories and macros for the day. If the macro numbers are a bit off occasionally though that's ok and not going to hurt you in the long run. Just as long as you stay consistent and healthy most of the time you're fine.

Just slowly increase your calories to minimize any water weight gain. If you only increase your goal by 100 calories and stay there for a week, you should be able to increase it another 100 the next week. Keep doing this until you reach your maintenance level. Since you think your maintenance is 2500, I'm assuming you're losing a pound a week at 2000. ??? If not, you may need to adjust your calories based on your actual weight loss history. I was losing 1.75 pounds a week at 1750 calories. This tells me my maintenance should be 2625. I'm currently eating 2500 and still lost a bit of weight last month. It does take a bit of trial and error to get it right. Good luck!

Similar to what I did. Only difference was I waited two weeks between increments, based on my experience it would take me about two week to adjust to new levels of intake. I kept increasing the calories until I started gaining then backed off a bit. You need to monitor and adjust as you go.
