09/2015 Wedding Motivation

Hi everyone :)

I've struggled with motivation and sticking to my goals ever since I started to lose weight. I "ran" a Mudderella recently, but in reality I walked most of it and sprained my knee in the process. It was a humbling, *kitten*-kicking, and eye-opening experience.

I got engaged on my birthday this past August and we're narrowing in on our date, likely September 2015. I want to slim down and tone up by that time and I need not only motivation but accountability. I'd like to use this post as my daily check in and motivation from the greater MFP community. I hope that my quest will inspire my future husband, too, and that we can build healthier lives for ourselves.

I've had some really good healthy eating and fitness days, but my struggle has been maintaining them and, like everyone, managing those undesirable days when you just want to binge on candy bars for no reason. I've made the big step and made my profile and diary public for people to track, and I'll post my starting metrics below. My first measurement was made on 09/15/14 and I intend to weigh-in once a month around the 15th, so I'll update with my October numbers then.

My plan to recover from the knee sprain, which was pretty minor and almost 100% now anyway, was MWF light cardio and weights, TT all cardio. Saturday light cardio/stretch. Sunday stretch. For the first week I was only able to do MWF very light cardio and very light weights, but I'm at a point now where the sprain is nearly gone and I need to kick it up a notch.

So, here I am, MFP community. I'll check in again tomorrow.

    We're here for you Jenna!
  • Big day today. 35 minutes on the treadmill with Zombies, Run! 5k Trainer Day 1. Then 90 minutes on weights from legs, arms, to abs.
  • I forgot to check in yesterday! Oops!

Yesterday was depressing (weather wise) and it's the night we usually do trivia and my eating/drinking goes down the drain. But, I made my single beer last all night (rather than have, like, three) and had a chicken sandwich. Pretty good, considering what usually gets consumed in a sports bar.
  • Today's gym session was pretty darn good, despite forgetting my socks (ew) and not wanting to go AT ALL.

35 minutes on the elliptical (figured that was the best bet to do sockless XD) and a run of the weights!

Admittedly, I'm terrified of 10/15 for my next weigh in.
