Confused by MILK

what about the cows? the modern dairy cow, at least those grown for milk, produce on average 11 gallons of milk twice a day, thats about 2-3 times as much as any calf would ever drink. if these cows are not milked they would die, it is that simple.
HAHA.... just have to say that this statement makes me laugh. I grew up on a dairy farm and cows WIILL NOT die if they are not milked. Ever think about the cow that aren't milked? ....they just keel over and die? HAHA0 -
I never said how long it would take. If a dairy cow that has recently given birth is left alone with the calf, The calf will drink all it can, but the cow will produce too much. Eventually her milk veins will rupture causing internal bleeding. It would be a long painful death. The more time that passes the less milk the cows produce, and evetually stop entirly. They can artificially produce the hormone responsable for milk production, but this just extends the time they produce it.0
