Good morning all,
I have a polar heart rate monitor H1. I was pregnant so I haven't used it in several months. It used to work just fine, but now it's giving me an error that says "check heart rate transmitter". I replaced batteries in the transmitter and the watch yesterday. Has anyone else had this happen? How do I, or can I fix it?

I have the Polar FT4, and had similar problems. The transmitter is apparently prone to damage if not stored in a dry place, detached from the strap.
I ended up sending it to Polar for a warranty repair. Warranty is 2 years, but you will need to find proof of purchase date. Go to the Polar website, and email them about the problem. They send back instructions on how to register your repair and send in your HRM. Their customer service was fantastic. I got my HRM back within 3 days.
In the meantime, you could try wetting the strap, washing the strap, wearing the strap tighter, wearing the watch on your bra strap (closer to the transmitter).0
