I've tried since high school to loose weight, tone up, get healthy...you know what I mean. I am 31 and weigh 177 pounds. I do not feel good about the way I look. I don't like the way I look and this time I'm going to do something about it. I'm going to get fit, healthy, lean and sexy!
Here's a little background on my weight loss endeavors thus far:
- In high school, I weighed 145 lbs., not skinny or overweight, but defiantly not healthy. I've never been athletic or interested in "exercising". I went to a very large high school (5A) that was extremely competitive, academically and athletically. If you weren't already good at sports, it was a waste of time trying out. I wanted to be on the dance team but there was a minimum payment of like $200 to purchase clothes, make-up, and other supplies. We just couldn't afford it. I then decided that I would become anorexic. I researched it and made a plan but it didn't last one day...I got too hungry!
- When I first got married, I was around 135 - 140 lbs., looked/felt pretty good but still not like I wanted. I got married in June and wasn't able to confidently wear a bathing suit during my honeymoon.
- In college, I registered for an exercise about every other semester. I have to put A LOT of effort into my education, learning and retaining information; health and fitness just fell by the wayside.
- While in college, I got pregnant and had two babies. I gained about 50 lbs. with my first child and did not diligently put fourth the effort to loose the weight when I got pregnant with my second child. Just before she was born I weighed 192 lbs.
So at this point in my life I was a wife, mother of two infants, and going to college full-time. Health and fitness were not at the top of my to do list!
- Four years ago, I joined Weight Watchers for the 3 month trial period. I figured I could get myself into good habits. I lost about 30 pounds! Just from eating healthy!
- Three years ago a friend of my husbands, and I, told us about P90X. We did it together for 72 of the 90 day program. I don't even remember why we stopped. Although, I did loose about 20lbs.!
So now here we are and I'm getting close to what I weighed when my second child was born. :frown: I was watching "Loosing It With Jillian Michaels" and to one of the families she was helping she said, "You didn't get this way overnight. Don't expect it to come off overnight!" The silly thing is that, when I decided to finally make a change was when I looked at myself and didn't recognize the body I was attached to. My clothes didn't fit and was getting to the point when I'd have to get new everything because nothing fit.
I'm so excited that I found myfitnesspal. I signed up quite sometime ago but never had the determination to take full advantage of it. I love how easy it is to imput food and exercise in one spot. It's so encouraging to see I'm not the only one that is struggling with their health and fitness. It's wonderful to get encouragement, and give it, from others working on the same thing I'm working on.
I started this journey on the first day of 2011. I will enter everything I eat into my food diary. I will drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. I will exercise everyday with, P90X. I will get healthy, fit, and lean. I will feel and look fantastic this summer and will confidently wear a bathing suit. I will not become discouraged. I will keep my eyes forward on what I want and never look back. This time I'm going to do it!
