OK. I suggested daily calorie intake is 2,010. I generally walk about 6 miles per day. I simply cannot reach my calorie goal. I still do not fully understand the whole calorie deficit thing. For example, I have logged supper, I generally only eat one real meal a day. I have eaten 732 calories, and burned 302 calories. It says I still have 1500 calories to eat but I know I cannot do that! Do the calories I burn not count towards my daily goal?

I'm not sure what your "fitness level" is set to? Sounds like if walking is what you do, lightly-moderately active is what it should be set to? I walk 6-7 miles/day (just walking my dog) with no added exercise and I list that as "lightly active" with a goal of 1 lb loss a week. I get 1430 cals/day allowance based on my weight. It doesn't sound like you eat enough to keep a bird alive, honestly. There's a minimum you MUST eat so your body doesn't go into starvation mode! Can you eat smaller meals throughout the day instead of ONE REAL meal (as you describe it) and get in some high protein foods and some "good" fats ? There's tons of snack ideas on some of the forums....and meal plans. Don't forget to drink loads of water too.......
Good luck on your journey! Always looking for friends.....FYI (friends who comment on my diary and who open theirs for criticism)0 -
Thank you for responding! I really feel like I eat enough. I eat a few snacks a day. I think my plan is to start eating "brunch" Maybe an omelette and some toast with fresh fruit? Like I said, I am just starting and have no clue what I am doing! Oh and I do drink a ton of water. Somewhere between 80-100 oz a day. At least i feel like that is a lot. And yes I am set to lightly active.0
