Nutrition monitoring

I joined my fitness pal months before I started using it after a friend mentioned he found it useful but didn't bother to use it (and eventually deleted it from my phone) as I was at a healthy BMI of 21 so the time investment didn't seem worth the effort when I didn't need to lose weight or have any problems maintaining my weight.

Some months later I started training to cycle around Singapore but after two months my training had not been providing the muscular, strength and speed improvements that I expected. I checked systematically that everything on the bike setup was fine so just assumed that I was just not going to be able to improve. Playing around on map my ride, I rediscovered my fitness pal and thought it could be worth checking if nutrition was the problem. I logged thoroughly for a couple of weeks and was shocked to discover that my protein intake was consistently at only 20 to 25 percent of that required. Surprised to discover this, I researched protein defficiency on the Internet and realised that I was exhibiting almost all the listed symptoms. I immediately modified my diet to redress this defficiency and was surprised how quickly some of the symptoms disappeared. Only two weeks further on, my training is now starting to show the results that I want.

This website is fantastic not only for weight loss but general healthy eating and athletic progress tracking.
