Hi there :) I'm really new to the whole dieting thing but would really love some tips! I am 5'2" and I'm looking to lose about 20 lbs to get to my GW of 125. I know that isn't a lot of weight but it is really important to me because I think losing this last bit will help me to feel a lot more confident about myself and I would really love to have that feeling back like I used to when I was that weight. I didn't realize how content I was with my body until I lost it. Now I've got a ton of muscle but just too much excess in the stomach, thigh and butt area. I feel like there must be someone out there who is in my situation who could help me out. I feel like I've cut back before and I exercise a lot but I just haven't seen results in the past which is pretty discouraging and so the scale continues to climb. I'm worried that the climbing will never stop so I decided the time to start changing was now. If ANYONE has any tips for me I would really appreciate it!!

Thanks so much :] and good luck to each and every one of you in your endeavors!

I want to lose 15-20ish pounds to get around 130-135ish pounds. (pounds i'd lost and then gained back because i got cocky at maintenance. ugh!)

If you exercise a lot, sounds like either you need to exercise differently or, most likely, change how you eat. start logging in your food, and review the choices you make. read the forums for tips, make friends, and eventually you won't DIET, but learn how to make better choices that will help ease off those 20 pounds.

you and I are in a similar situation. I am about 5 ft tall and my starting weight was 143. So far I haven't added any exercise to my daily activities, all I have done is log my food. So far the first 10lbs just fell off. I know that once I get to the first goal weight, I will need to add more cardio to tighten up, but for now I am just trying to focus on eating better. MFP really helps with the intake/output for calories.

yeah - be honest about your food when you log it in. snacking can be very dangerous!!!

    completely understand you!...
  • I think that logging my food and exercises had made the biggest difference so far! During the first few days (when I was trying to break my snack habit) I would think "Do I really want to have to add this in to my food log and go over on my calories for the day?" and that would usually be enough for me to say no! Now I don't even think about snacking and it's only been a week.
