eating breakfast

I find that if i eat breakfast...full of fiber or not...i am starving the rest of the day. If i just drink coffee and wait for lunch, my day seems to not be as filled with constant hunger and thoughts of food. i know this is so wrong, but I have experimented with this and wow there is a definite pattern to it. Does this happen to anyone else?

I am the EXACT same way! I was just telling my husband this. If I eat breakfast the way you are "suppose" too, I eat a lot more through out the day, because I am hungrier!! For right now I am sticking to a light breakfast of Low-Sugar Oatmeal. Its ok, but by lunch I am starving!!!0

That means breakfast is working, it gets your metabolism moving, you should be eating every 3-4 hours starting with something within an hour of waking up.0

I find that if I eat breakfast I still need to snap at about 11am to stop me feeling starving. If i don't eat breakfast I still need to snack at 11... I normally have something like fruit just so I can say I've eaten something0

I used to be the same way, but my boyfriend got me into eating breakfast. Now that I have my snacks/meals every 2hrs as long as they are protein and fiber based, I'm doing good for the duration of the day0

If you like eggs and toast, try scrambling 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites, in Pam spray and one piece of whole or multigrain toast sprayed with Parkay butter spray. <300 calories, and keeps me full for 3-4 hours.0

Coffee suppresses your appetitie and ups your metabolism thus making you feel less hungry or not hungry at all for hours. That's why it's the main ingredient in many fat burners on the market. Honestly, I say do what works for you. As long as you don't end up overeating or making bad food choices later on, I think it's harmless to skip breakfast if you just can't stomach it. My husband is the same way, and it hasn't hurt his fitness at all. He has his big meals at lunch and supper and then works out later at night.
I personally don't think it's a problem as long as you're not starving an hour later and reaching for the donuts.

I eat a super light breakfast within an hour of getting up and then I eat something else at 10 am when I am actually hungry. As long as I don't go over my daily calorie allowance, I figure it doesn't matter so much how often or when I eat. What matters is what I eat.0

I'm the same way, but if you think about it...it makes sense. You jump start your metabolism in the morning when you eat and that's why you get hungrier. Skipping breakfast prolongs your body in its fasting state. Your metabolic rate is slow slow slow at night and you keep it slow for half the day by not eating.
Just drink your water and stay busy.0 -
Maybe try spitting your breakfast up and eat half at, say, 8am and the rest at 10 - then have lunch at noon and so on. That way your body will keep buring calories0

Thanks for all your great replies. i failed to mention that I actually am having my latte in the morning which is skim milk and ff syrup and a jolt of caffeine, so I am revving up my metabolism i suppose. Its not as if i am in a holding metabolic pattern from all night. I tried several times eggs and ww toast and bacon with regular coffee and I swear I am ready to nosh in an hour. just had my ff carmel latte and at 8am and its is 11:30 and I bet I can go until 1 or 2. Oh and have already had 2 bottles of water. THANKS!0
