Recently found out my liver is not doing so hot. I'm looking for any foods and/or supplements that anyone eats/uses for liver support. I'm aware of milk thistle, but that's about it.

What has your doctor told you to do about your diet?

Stabilized soluble rice bran has been shown to improve liver conditions in many people over the years. It is an excellent all around addition to your daily diet and is absolutely loaded with antioxidants.

If you found out your liver is not doing so hot, then you should absolutely be asking this question of the doctor that is treating you.

    Agreed. That's a given.
However, there's nothing wrong with educating yourself

Obviously this has already been done as I've been tested out the *kitten* at this point. Doctors however generally turn straight to medicine, and I am looking more for foods.

Thank you for the info about the rice bran this was new to me.

I'm about to start taking milk thistle, 1000mg daily.

Doc said cut out alcohol (this was a given) and avoid anything artificial which I generally do anyways. my food diary is open for all to review. It was suggested to decrease my animal based protein intake as well.

On an open internet forum? I guess we differ on what is meant by "education".

Check your library for books on the topic too. Try searching "liver" or "herbal remedies". One of my favorite books for EVERYTHING is called "Prescription for Nutritional Healing".

Supplements aren't the best thing to take because most of them wouldn't pass a purity test. Since it's not regulated by the FDA, unless it's reported for contamination, they aren't tested for safety or purity.
Lots of young guys trying to buff up take A LOT of supplementation product because it's broscienced in the gyms. Also, if you're using any oral PED's, cut them out.
Liver issues are usually genetic (unless one is an alcoholic or massive drug user), so are you aware of any liver issues in your family tree?

maybe because medicine actually works instead of changing your levels by a minimum which doesn't matter at the end of the day.
if it's something medical you should not treat it with over the counter supplements.

Also i hope you are not using PHs (pro hormones) even if they are legal they are worse than actual oral steroids.
