Prove my husband wrong

I mentioned to my husband that I was starving on Monday and it was most likely due to the fact that I ate junk (fast food, AYCE sushi, cake, sugary breakfasts, ect.) all weekend long. He said that's not normal and that I'm the only person who thinks that.
What do you guys think? Are you hungrier the day after eating nothing but junk food than you normally are after a day of eating mostly healthier foods?

You are hungrier the days following days of an increased calorie intake.0

Definitely.
It's the main reason I try to limit foods with a lot of added sugars and heavily refined carbs. I find that I'm just ravenous after eating them. Sometimes for several days.
It's also why when a formal diet plan has a short (two week) window where you don't EAT foods with lots of added sugars, high glycemic (load) carbs, and refined carbs, I say go for it. Nothing wrong with recalibrating.0 -

^ This. Appetite is mostly controlled by hormones, ghrelin and leptin, the former being specific to "raising" appetite. When more calories are ingested, appetite can gradually (though each person's "gradually" differs) increase as the body assumes there's an influx of food. Conversely, leptin can lower the more you go without food, hence why people with EDs often begin to lack appetite (and deal with very messed up hunger hormones in recovery), or why you have people who formerly ate 3000kcal a day suddenly having trouble with 1200.
Flipping macros could play a role, as well. Eating more carbs for several days might play with blood sugar for some people.
As for your husband saying it's not normal; it's fairly normal for people to feel hungry after going from higher calorie days to lower calorie days, or to go from high carb days to low carb days, high protein days to low protein days, etc. As I said earlier, however, this gradual raise in hormones differs from person to person; your husband might be able to go several more days of eating more than normal without drastically increasing his appetite.0 -

This, but it doesn't have anything to do with the *quality* of your food intake, IMO. If you're eating more, period - you're going to feel hungrier when you go back to eating less. It's just easier to over-eat less than great for you foods.
We eat out a lot every weekend. I never feel extra hungry on Mondays, because I stay within my goals still.0 -
No idea if there's truth to this thought, but when I pig out, I always feel like I stretch out my stomach a little bit. So, the next day, it's bigger and wants more. I could be totally wrong, but I experience increased hunger the day after pigging out. I agree that it's not necessarily about the quality of the food, but I find it easier to overeat with crap food and harder to overeat with real food like veggies and lean protein.0

I experience greater hunger the day after a hard work out, not the day of.
I experience greater hunger (cravings) for sweets sometimes for days after I eat sweets, white breads, white rice, and french fries.
I experience greater hunger after a period of no appetite, like when I've been sick.0 -

I've always heard that Sugar actually makes you more hungry. It acts like a drug and gives you a sort of high but only for a short while, then once it metabolizes you crash and then crave more food! So yes, it makes perfect sense to feel starving after a period of eating sugary foods all weekend!0
