I finally beat the 180's!
I started at 209 in 2011
I lost 25 lbs about a year - 2 years ago through the span of 6 months.
then I seemed to have stopped. I went from 182-187 for about a year, i was on and off due to school and working full time for practicum.
I decided to really try again this year during school. I got a fitbit and it helped me really measure how much i should be eating.
as of today I finally weigh 179.5 (i waited like 4 days before posting this to make sure it wasn't just a fluctuation)
but i managed to finally do it! i haven't been in the 170's for like 6-7 years!
Let's hope i can get down to 175. small goals at a time

Congratulations! Reaching your goal, no matter how small or large, is always a great feeling! And the fact that you stuck with it for so long is amazing! I often say that a healthy lifestyle and weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. And your story is a testament to that motto! Awesome job!0

Dude, congrats! I have a very similar story. I started at 205 at my highest, I had lost 10 or 15 lbs before but never got below 180. Now I'm trying to break into the 160's and see 169 for the first time since college. Keep it up!0

Great job! I am also having trouble beating the 180's. I've been stuck right at 180 for awhile now. My original goal was to hit 175 by Halloween and I was doubting that I would make it. But this morning I was at 178. I really hope it sticks!0

thanks everyone! I forgot how supportive this board can be!
it's true, i've been on this "journey" for 3 years.
I started the journey thinking "alright, i'll be able to lose 50lbs in a year and be my goal weight by summer 2012"
but life happens, and it's not always easy to stick with it.
at this point in my life, i've learned to not care how LONG it'll take me to get to my goal, but just as long as i keep trying and i have my mind on reaching it eventually.
but i will say when you see a change in the scale, it really does motivate you.0 -
