I'm so confused on how many grams of carbs, protein, fat and sugar
you need a day for weight loss.I have done some research but everyone
has a different opinion.

Total calories is what matters more than anything. Essentially a Balance diet consists of 20%-30% fats, 15-30% Protein and 45-60% carbs. Anywhere within those ranges is considered "balanced" and you can do trial and error to see what works best for your body.

Agreed. Start with a middle of the road balance - then pay attention to your body and it will tell you what you need to adjust.

    Good luck :flowerforyou:

Yes, what Erik said. Start by setting your goals to 55% carbs and the rest will be calculated for you. Try to gradually reduce your carbs.

I'm down to 45% now and am happy at that. People who go lower must be nuts!! Just kidding ;)

I eat an apple every other day and sweet potatoes rather than rice and whole wheat bread daily (but eventually I'll bring back some brown rice and occasionally I have 1 slice of bread if it fits) and 1/2 cup All Bran daily and that is the lowest on carbs I ever want to go in order to remain happy and energetic.

    Don't be confused. :)
It's calories in vs. calories out. Do what works best for you and play around with it. It's trial and error for sure. Some people need more of one thing or another depending on your workouts. I myself am trying to get more protein, which is hard as I don't eat meat at every meal. Try to get more of your carbs and sugars from fruits and veggies vs. prepackaged foods. :)
    Good luck.

Well, first off my rule has always been if it has more than 5 grams of sugar in it don't eat it!. Protein, well that all depends... For example I am lookin to build alot of muscle so for me I should eat 1 to 1.5 times the amount that I weigh in grams of protein a day. And as far as fat is concerned eat as little as possible!!!!! You can even follow the less than 5 grams of fat rule too. When I was in T.O.P.S they would always recommend eatin less than 20 grams of fat a day. I hope that I could be of some help.
