When to take a break

So this really isn't anything to be super proud of, but I've exercised the last two days.
Yes, I'm out of shape.
Today, I am sore (did legs last night).
Should I take a break today, then go back Thursday/Friday, or plow through it today?

Listen to your body. I don't know what plan you're using, but what does it call for? If you did legs yesterday, and you do shoulders or arms or back or something today? If you feel like you need the break, take one.0

After being out of the gym for years, my legs hurt for 3 days after my first full leg workout. I went to the gym all 3 days, and on the 4th day had another leg day.
If you stop going to the gym every time you are sore, you will never be in the gym. Work a different muscle group. Do some cardio, regardless, get in a habit of going to the gym.0 -
It's a sore, necessary evil at first, but it gets better after a bit.0

What's your goal? Are you exercising to lose weight or do you want to get into a healthier lifestyle for the long run? Based on your goal, you should be the one to decide how far to push yourself or when to take it easy.
Your body, your responsibility, your choice.0
