Serving/portion sizes

General question: does anyone else feel that serving sizes on packaging is too much food? I just used a 2 portion pack of pasta for hubbie and I and ended up placing at least about a third of it into the fridge as it was way to much pasta. But according to the instructions we are way under the serving size. Does anyone else look at this and go holy crap that's a lot of food?

no, i have the opposite issue most of the time... my husband and i usually eat what is recommended for 4 people between the 2 of us!!0 -
Haha no. I always eat more than one serving of pretty much everything. For pasta I have 1.5 serving typically, or a bit less. Veggies? 3 servings easily.0

I can't relate to this, maybe because we almost never have pasta in the house? I usually eat 2-3 servings of most things, because I see no reason to have 10 items on my plate when 3 will have me hitting all of my nutritional needs. Except cheese. I try to keep my cheese to one serving.0

Uhm nope. Never.
Recommended serving sizes always seem itty bitty to me, but that probably has a lot to do with a past of overeating.0 -
Yes! I don't like pasta so rarely have it but definitely have this problem with rice. Sometimes I get those microwave rice packets that "serve two" and we always have loads leftover. If I used the full packet, we would have half a plate of rice (heaped) each - way too much!0
