DAY6 No soda and cutting my 4000 calorie in half!

Im loving this site and all the support and welcomness that comes with it. I love that you are in control of your day and your diet. You can do and eat what you want as long as you track and monitor. Just doing that really puts in to perspective of what your eating and is it worth it! All my life ive done crash diets and failed after a few days for the fear of never eating my favorite food again sank in.. i have a food problem. its my solution to all and any problems but i feel great and im sooo glad im done with the soda. I have been drinking soda and tea for a year DAILY and lately 2 or 3 32 oz dr pepper a day!! Cant wait to weigh in tomorrow! and i know 2000 seems like a lot still but i dont want to be to drastic! baby steps :) any other newcomers here? i love the shared support. ALSO to the poeple who have lost darn near a hundred pounds YOUR AMAZING! I cant wait to do that

    I'm on day 11 now and doing pretty well! It is really amazing when you think about all the calories you mindlessly take in when your not accountable to yourself. That's what I love about MFP is that it makes you aware, also the fact that I can eat whatever I want as long as I keep my calories in check. That being said, I have learned that my calories are precious and I would rather spend them on something that is filling than soda or candy. It's great to start somewhere! 2000 is a great start if you were eating double that in the first place. When I started I had my calories set way too low and felt like quitting on day 2 I upped my calories and now it seems doable. Even if they are higher than what I should be taking in, it's a starting point...baby steps!
