I need some help (super TMI, girly bits related)

So just a warning - this is TMI and it's probably gross. It's a girly issue that yes, I did google,, but I'm more interested in first hand experience with it. So hopefully I don't get any "do you even uterus" comments.
I'm on the pill and my periods are clockwork, until this month.
On day 14 of my cycle, I started cramping and spotting pretty bad. It's continued now for a few days - but it's mostly old blood mixed in with a bit of bright red here and there.
I thought it was just breakthrough bleeding, but the cramps are so totally bad that I can hardly stand (when they hit - they aren't constant, it's like mild cramping for a day then boom - on my knees).
Is it possible that I'm dealing with a ruptured ovarian cyst? I've had several small ones in the past, but they didn't feel like this (pain wise, and there was no blood). And if so - is it doctor worthy?
Sorry (a little) for the over-share.

Sounds worth an OB trip to me.0

I would at least call your OBGYN's office. You should be able to at least speak with a nurse/ nurse practitioner at the office.0

Yes, it's doctor-worthy! Go!0

Thanks so much guys! It only just now occurred to me that there might be something else going on. Will call tomorrow am!0

Okay, my experience with questions like these is this:
With most normal-minded, rational people, if it's enough to make you wonder "should I mention this to my doctor?" -- the answer is usually yes.
This, to me, would warrant a call at least to my GP.
ETA: Good for you OP.0 -
"do you even uterus?" oh my god that is great. i'm in tears here, seriously. i'll have to remember that one.0

It actually does kind of sound like a ruptured cyst to me (a couple of mine I ended up doubled over for a day or two, or for the worst one, hospitalized). But cysts actually aren't very common when you're taking birth control, that's actually considered one of the most effective treatments for preventing them from forming.
Anytime something unnatural happens to your body, especially if there's pain involved, it typically warrants at least a call to the doctors office, if not an actual appointment.
Better safe than sorry, right?
Good luck and I hope it's nothing serious!0 -
yes, def call

And thanks guys. It sounds dumb that it took me four days to realize something else might be up. I promise I'm usually more self aware than this. And yes, it is better to be safe!0 -

Is that like twitter only with an a instead of an i? That could be.... interesting.... :blushing: :laugh:0 -
Ahh I usually don't read these topics but I'm glad I did. Almost same thing happened to me on day 4 of my new pack. Weird spotting for 5 days along with wave-like cramps every few hours. I've been on the pill for ~10 years so I guess it isn't breakthrough bleeding because doesn't that only happen in the first few months of a new type of pill?
I didn't really think anything of it, especially since it stopped on Sunday, but maybe I should be calling my OB/GYN too... thanks for speaking up about your issue & hope yours isn't something bad!0 -
Bahahahahaha!!! thank GAWD i don't have snapchat!!!
OP... i'm no help, mine are soooo screwed up & my OB knows it & is not concerned - normal for me. check w/your doc.0 -
Anything you can't explain that hurts is worth a doctor visit
Anything that has you on your knees in pain is worth a doctor visit. (for peace of mind if nothing else)0
