Today is weights.

Here's my confession. . .I hate weights. Hate them. First off, I feel like I'm a "bulker". . .I still have just enough fat luxuriating around on my arms and legs to cover my definition, so I look bigger, but not more defined (unless I strike a bodybuilder pose) So. . .it's hard to see my results. Also. . .well . . .they're boring.

But, today is weights. I promise to do them. I will say that without you fine women, I probably would slack on them, so THANKS!

Then, I'm going shopping for a new dress. I discovered when cleaning out my closet last weekend that I don't own one that fits (so consequently, now I don't own one.) And, tonight I'm going to the Opera. (forgive me, I am a music geek.) So, I need a dress. . .wish me luck!:flowerforyou:

    I have to drive the Lacrosse team to a game so while they play today I will take my 1 hour walk. Usually I just sit on my duff. That's my plan and if there is time tonight I will do some gardening. Yesterday I moved some leafy brush for my hubby for an hour. Nothing heavy just little branches. Have to start somewhere.

    Way to go ladies on the working out! I am really tempted not to do anything today. I woke up with a sore throat so it feels like one of those days that I would rather lay around watching movies all day. I also need to clean house since we have a prayer meeting tomorrow night here. Maybe once I get started I will be okay with it and keep going.
    Viviakay-I'm glad you brought up the weights thing. I don't like it either. I actually do my upper body toning through taebo, and I have noticed a difference. It's not huge, but it's something. My arms started getting smaller after a week of the amped series. So you bringing it up has given me some motivation to work out today, in hopes that my arms will keep shrinking and toning! Thanks!

    Oh, I'm glad my whining motivated you, mechanicmom. I just re-read my post and was thinking jeez, somebody call the "wah-mbulance" (my favorite 13 year old phrase. . .) I just did "total body burn" with hip hop abs, and do feel much better now.

    I'm also amazed everytime I complete a set of real-live push ups. Even though the noises I make during them are not so pretty. . .

    And, yeah, I'm the worst at starting to exercise. Once I get going, I remember "hey, I sort of like doing this" but before, I'm wondering what I could be doing (anything!) instead of working out.

    So, in short, exercise transforms negative into positive. Hooray! Exercise!

    Ladies! All I can say is, thank God you are here because I am soooooo tempted to bag it today. It's a rare rainy day in SoCal and all I want to do is lie in bed and read a book.

    Vivia -- I'm the same way. I feel like I get bulky quickly, but I actually really like doing weights. Mainly because (is this an ego thing?) I like seeing those muscles move in the mirror. I also like counting down, knowing that I have 3 sets of 12, etc etc.

    Anyway, onward!

    Yesterday:
    ~ Took a power sculpting class at the gym with the crazy FitTV instructor. At the end of the class, while I was walking out, I said "no pushups this week?" and he made me stay and do 20 real ones with him in the middle of the gym. Ooooof!
    ~ Kept within my calories
    ~ Forgot to take my vitamins

    Today:
    ~ I'm really going to try for a low-calorie workout, maybe yoga and a walk.
    ~ Take my vitamins
    ~ Eat the bulk of my calories during the day and eat a light dinner

    Hi ladies. Still no Jillian today so I did bag exercise & did yard work and went for groceries. Before long, I won't be able to afford to eat. Gas hit $4.03 here today so I guess I won't be able to get to the store anyway.

    We are supposed to have really nice weather for the next three days so my plan is to get outside & exercise the "natural" way.
