Off topic but I need to vent! Since I have been driving (about 13 years) I had only been pulled over twice. But now just since September, I have been pulled over 3 times!!! The last of those times was last night. I blame my boyfriend, they have all been since I met him, he is bad ticket karma.

Ok so the other two times were justified I suppose, turns out it is NOT legal to think the roads coming home from work are the autobon. However last night, I feel robbed. There is this lovely road where I live, it's like a mini freeway, it goes under most other roads so the very few stoplights there are are very few and far between. The speedlimit is only 40 but since there are not stops, it runs pretty smooth, and it's also pretty because there are parks on the side and bike trails so you see tons of people driving and walking and just looking happy. So aside from the fact that it is the quickest way to get home, it's also pretty and just non-stressful to drive on. So lately I have been trying to find the best way to get on there.

The earliest spot I can get on is right off from a major intersection, but there is no left turn to get down to this road. So, attempting to be a good citizen and not turn illegally, I made a right onto a side street before it so that the side street could take me legally straight across down to this road. WELL, the darn right turn onto the sidestreet was apparently illegal and I got pulled over. First of all, I didn't see the sign, secondly I wouldn't have even thought to look for a sign since it's seems to odd that this right turn onto a street would be illegal (apparently the neighbors complained about traffic cutting through the neighborhood to avoid the busy road) and thirdly, I turned there for the sole purpose of NOT making an illegal turn further up!!!

So now I have to take time off work and go to court to plead for them to waive the points, the stupid ticket is $100 (there goes my money to buy a bike anytime soon). My only other option is to write a letter and hope they waive the points, which is what happaned with the first speeding ticket I got this year (same city), however the cop suggested I sign the back and request a court date. Though I did hear that cops get paid overtime to go to court, so I have to wonder if that sugestion was merely to get me to go to court so he gets overtime.

Errrg I'm so irritated!!!!

Ugh, well Im sorry to hear that, All I can say is if its worth it for you to take the day off then to pay the ticket go for it by all means its your right! Also you can always call the courts and ask to change what you checked if this isnt viable to you ( Which most cases they know that its not worth it to lose a day of work for 100 bucks as youll lose money!) Best wishes to you!:drinker:
