Tired of being tired/fat/out of shape

Hello!
I just joined MFP. I have ballooned to 190lbs on a small 5'1 frame and I'm just disgusted with myself. I was unemployed for about 4 months and that certainly did not help. I started work again right around Thanksgiving, and continued eating, eating and more eating. I've had enough. I used to be an athletic 130lbs and now I can barely get off the couch. It's ridiculous. I've gone up and down for years on Atkins (works well for me) but I always gain it back. I'm trying a combo of low carb/low cal/higher fiber and all around better food. I think the tracker is really going to help. I bought a used elliptical on Craigslist, started my food tracking yesterday and plan to keep it up. I could only go 17 minutes on the elliptical last night.
I just wanted to say hello and I look forward to reading all the success stories and sharing this with others.

Don't get down on yourself for 17 minutes! The elliptical is tough, especially when you are just starting out. It works a lot of differnt muscle groups, and your heart all at the same time. You should be proud of yourself for making it that long. Losing weight is all about little steps. Try to do 17 minutes each time you exercise for the rest of this week. Next week try to bump it up to 20. Eventually you will hit your goals. Remember that you didn't gain the weight and get out of shape overnight, it is going to take some work to get back to where you were. Good luck!!0
