Hello all,
So glad to have found you all here. I have dieted my entire life, using every proven and fad diet known. I was finally on track when my husband and I decided to have a baby. I now have a beautiful 6 month old son, but I also have hit my highest weight ever. So, I decided to take control of my eating which led me to this site. Today is my first day using it and so far, so good! I really like the user-friendly tools and I am excited to get started. If anyone has any suggestions on how to help me curb my appetite ( I really think that is the foil to my goals), I'd love to hear them!

It's my understanding, and the latest research shows, that eating 5 small meals a day (breaking up your alloted calories into fifths) is the best way to curb hunger. Also, stick to nutrient rich foods such as whole grains and proteins. I too recently had a baby (15 weeks old) and am looking to get back to my prepregnancy shape. Are you nursing? That makes a difference, too. I find this web site doesn't have an option to include nursing so be careful that you eat enough to maintain your energy levels if that is the case for you. As well, don't let your body get too hungry. Fill in the spaces between meals with vegetables and lots of water. I know it's easier said than done but given time your body will adapt and you'll find yourself wanting the foods that are good for you. Getting enough sleep is very important, too. If you aren't sleeping enough, which with a baby is almost certain, then you will be craving more foods that are not the best choices like simple carbs and sugars. It's a balancing act but as you 'practice' your new lifestyle it will be come the norm and success will follow. Good luck.0

Hi Lauren, Welcome and congrats. This site is helping me as well as a lot of people. Personally I think one of the biggest tools it to monitor and record what you are eating. It really makes you self conscious of what you are putting into your body and how much food intake you are taking. What are some of the things or food that trigger the appetite? Dont set you goals to high. You should have short term goals and long term as well. Keep it up and congrats on the baby. My son turned 6, I have not idea where the time went either but I wanted to make sure I can be around to see him grow up. This one one of my motivational tools.0
