Not My First Rodeo

Hello all,

My name is Ashley, I am 21, from California. This is my second true attempt at weight loss using MFP. Last time around I lost about 40 lbs, but sometime along the way lost track, and gained it all back and then some. I have PCOS so it feels like it is impossible to get the weight off and keep it off, and it gets very discouraging, but I know I can do it! I started about 2 weeks ago at 271 lbs but am now 266 lbs and 5'5". I would like to lose about 86 more lbs. After I lose those 86 lbs, I will see if I am happy, or would like to continue since I would still technically be "overweight".

I would like to find friends that are on a similar journey that I am in hopes that we can help each other along the way, and encourage each other not to give up - especially with the holidays right around the corner! Please, feel free to send me a request.

Hi, Ashley! I've lived with PCOS for what my OB/GYN believes *most* of if not my entire life, but I didn't get a *formal* diagnosis until age 24, and was at 400lbs. I'm now at 221lbs today, and finally healthy! I'll be glad to be your friend and support you every step of the way!

Here is a guide I wrote on PCOS that is just a tips/helpful hints that you may find useful:

40 must be the magic number. I lost the same on Slimming World and metformin over a year ago. I was taken off metformin and gained it all back.

I'm determined to get this off and keep it off. My highest was 207 which jolted me a bit. I'm 5 ft 6 in so that is well into the obese bmi category. My first goal is to get down to 180, and get into "overweight" bmi. Then I'll see if I can make a stretch goal.

I'm new to my fitness pal, if anyone with PCOS would like to add me!

I'm curious about changing the protein v carbs percentage, or do I just watch what carbs to eat?
