    ronatrain, thank you for your post. I had gestational diabetes with my last 2 children (and am now pre-diabetic) and was taught by the nutritionist exactly what you posted. While, yes, bananas, carrots and corn are better for us than chocolate and fries, there are some fruit and veggies (potatoes anyone?) that are better not being consumed every day.

    I'm currently on Nutrisystem (had lots of success in the past with this program) and we're allowed to have 2 - 3 fruit servings a day. A whole banana counts as 2 servings so I think as long as you stay in that range you should be fine.
