Love it, love it, love it! I have watched it from Season 1 and it always motivates me!0

Just recently got into it. Not avid follower but it is inspiring. I missed the last 2 episodes of last season (who won??? Hopefully Ada she was awesome and my marathon inspiration in December) and then last night I only watched an hour and a half. But yes I agree the stories are phenomenal.
It bothers me though when they say how much the show inspired them and now they are glad they are on. Me, I'm like, the show inspires you, get out and DO IT don't wait to be a contestant!!0 -
I haven't seen the show but we're doing our own biggest loser competition at work with about $200 so far on the line. It's such a great motivator !!0
-
I LOVE this show! It has really inspired me...in so many ways!0
-
I love the show also and I have to be honest ! This will be the first time watching with weights in my hands instead of some kind of chips or candy !! Yes , I was one of those people. Lol !0
-
Never seen it, did see a headline about it how someone lost 41lbs in a week. How is that possible...calorie deficit must have been huge but surely all he lost in 1st week was fluid and if thats right then the guy must have been positively sloshing about as he walked!0

I rarely watch network TV, but I did catch this last night. Pretty interesting, and it makes me wonder how people get to the sizes they do. Clearly it's more than just eating, it seems there are psychological issues at work to cause that kind of incredible weight gain. I like the fact that the show gets lasting results though. I don't like the fact that these people lose these unreal amounts of weight and it's due to the fact that they are being isolated from the rest of the world and trained into sumission day in and day out. Heck, any of us would get in better shape doing that! But, I guess you have to have a controlled, isolated environment for a TV show, especially like this one.0

I love the biggest loser!! I have been watching it since season 1 and there is never a dull moment always something new and interesting and so many different personalities with one common goal putting weight behind them for good and yes I know there has been a few that has gained it back but after all we are human how many have we seen right here on MFP back again for the last time.
The show is very motivating to me and I enjoy every moment will not miss a episode I watch it during and have it recording on my DVR. I am a big fan. My fav quote on the poster on the wall is Stand up and finish what you started. Let's do just that MFP letting biggest loser be our driving force they can do it and so can we!!!!0 -
yes i def am a fan of the show. I've watched it since season 1, however there were a couple seasons that I just couldn't get into cuz i felt like the people they had on weren't ppl i could relate to, but now I feel like they raised the bar by having ppl that are so morbidly obese and that they TOO can do it if they put their minds to it. That motivates me sooooo much and I love this show for being on. I've definately learned a lot over the years....0

My husband and I watch the show too. Very motivating and believe the prize money should be way higher because these people work so hard!!!! I always hate to see the end of the very 1st show because I don't wanna see someone get kicked off before they have really had a chance.0

Didn't watch it last season. Am back on board this season b/c of Rulon Gardner... the twist with the mystery trainers is great...wondering which one is gonna replace Jillian next year?0

I watch I love the show. I cried while listening to the brown team stories how very sad.0

I just hope that people here understand that the weight they lose on the show is not comparable to healthy weight loss in the real world i.e. 1-3 lbs. a week. The people on the show are being supervised the whole time and the weight loss becomes their job as opposed to the rest of us that still have to go to work, take care of the kids, etc. Don't watch the show thinking that you can lose the same amount they did in a week and if you come up short don't get frustrated about.0

Yeah I must admit that this show is probably the most powerful thing I have seen on TV for a long time. I rarely get choked up but this show gets me almost every episode. Very moving stories!!! All the other TV reality shows are driven by money but that is just a bonus with the biggest loser, the real prize is the end result. The show motivates me, I think if they can go the gym day in and day out, then I can too!!! God bless these guys!!!0

OMG....I watched last night for the first time in forever! Those stories were just heartbreaking! I teared up a couple of times...especially on the Green Team where the girl has lost several babies due to her weight.
It really is an eye opener not to let things get out hand and do something about it!0 -
i absolutely love the show its so inspiring to see that no matter the size you can lose weight with eating right & exercise!!!
I love it!!!0 -
I love this show, I have been watching it since season 2. I agree the stories are phenomenal, but on the only hand who can spend most of the day at the gym! They lose alot of weight in short amount of time, which many of us just can not do at this point of our lives. Nor is it safe for us to outside of the 24 hour ranch with medical personnel standing and watching your every move to keep you safe. Last night , I also saw people passing out, throwing up and unable to keep up. There was one season that Kia, was there she share the in/outs of the behind the scense of what really go on. Very interesting read. Any way, I still love the show and glad there is a new twist with unknow trainer... it was getting kinda of boring with the so, so stuff happening.0

I totally agree with a lot of things that you all are saying! Its such a motivator and it really makes me think about HOW people get to where they are today. Its not always the food...its totally psychological...food replaces things in peoples lives and then takes over. And yes...we all have to realize that the weight they are losing is not 'reality' ... they have the opportunity to make this their life...no interruptions...and thats how the lbs just fall off like they do. I mean in the first week someone lost 41 lbs...thats just wild!!!
But i will continue to watch it...be inspired by it...learn from it...and do my push ups during every commercial break (started that about 2 seasons ago!!)0 -
Last season was the first time I've watched it. Fell in love!!! This season I'm super excited about watching Rulon after having seen the episode of " I survived " or whatever it's called that he was on and nearly died. Very inspiring!0

I like the show. I do however have to dvr it b/c I hate all the waiting to see the weigh ins. LOL. Love to fast forward through all that stuff. LOL.
It's going to be fun to see the difference in the trainers. I do personally like that they seem into using the contestants own body weight as the focus of their workouts. All that boxing, and training outside in a beautiful part of the country.
That said wow those people seriously need the help. That one guy lost from 646 to 507 before he got there. It's sad to see people that have gotten that large. It's inspiring to see them out there changing.0 -
I'm guessing you are in the US as I haven't seen it advertised in the UK? Am I missing something?! I've only seen one series over here and that was when I was on maternity leave in 2008/2009. I loved it though and found it really motivating! x0
-
I haven't watched it in a while but I watched the premiere last night. Two new trainers is an interesting twist. We'll see how the season turns out. I feel bad for the big guy on the blue team. Over 600 pounds? YIKES!0
-
I have watched it since season 1 and one of the things I like best about the show is for many it is educational. It educates people on the lives of many who are super morbibly obese and shows many how a person gets there. The average super morbibly obese person is not going to discuss this issue with others.
So I think the show highlights their pains, struggles, etc. It helps others not to think the person is huge because they want to be. I get my tissues out every show. Unfortunately I have to watch it later because I am not at home on Tuesdays anymore but the show is phonomenol. And I am sure you all have noted that the contestants are getting heavier with every show. I give them a thumbs up for just putting their pain out their like that because I would not have the courage to put my life and mental issues out their like these contestants have. I can't wait to look at it tomorrow or Friday!0 -
I think Patrick won if I remember right. Sad thing is the Biggest loser that got kicked off really won. the first and 2nd place BL "winners" really finished 4th and 5th place.
Yes it is motivating and fun to see how FAST they change. Some of the exercises they do seem unsafe. Ok if the guy is 350 lbs why is Jillian at 120 lbs ?? on his back? his poor knees ! Also seems unsafe to just throw them into 5 or 6 hours of exercise a day. Maybe they build up to that rate before they come to the show.
Lastly, does anyone leave with eating disorders ? If the game is on the line as far as weight goes, ive heard they go w/o water all day to lose more Im sure they do other things also to get the weight as low as possible before the big weigh in.
I always watch it tho ; )0
