  • I'm new to this site, but I think you have to count everything you put in your mouth if you want an honest calorie count.

Everything--because it's not just calories that you need to watch but also carbs, sugar, fat, sodium, etc. etc. etc. It all had contributed to "our problem" and needs to be controlled if we want to get and stay healthy!

I personally don't count the really low cal veggies, such as peppers, celery, cucumber, romaine, etc. They took me more time to enter than they were worth! My afternoon snack of red peppers and celery was 15 calories! Carrots, corn, potatoes, you HAVE to count them, but the super low cal stuff, why bother!

    Just my take...

I count everything. Even veggies have calories and they can add up.

I think if you are really trying to calorie count then you would count every thing that goes into your mouth.. Like today I had a bite of my moms sweet n sour chicken.. just half a chicken ball with alil sauce.. I found it on MFP and counted half the chicken ball! lol My mom thinks I'm nuts but I want to be accountable for it..

I even count the gum I chew at the gym... Gosh I'ma nerd! :ohwell:

    Good Luck! :flowerforyou:

 Plantlady.. my mom taught me, if you're going to do something do it full heartedly.. She would say half *kitten* done things give you half *kitten* results.. and with the weight lose I want full results..

Don't get me wrong I started this March 07 :grumble: so took me a yr to fully gather up the umph to do it forreal and be true to myself.. lol

But long as you aren't gaining then hey that's a good thing... lol

I've done the not counting "some things" before and it didn't work for me because it wasn't long before I wasn't counting more and more things and soon, just not counting at all and went right back to gaining weight. I'm a little anal with my calories now.
