Hi everyone! I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/ recipes for doing the Daniel Fast or as some call it the Daniel Diet. I'm doing it for religious purposes, not as a diet.
Thanks for any help! Have a great day!

Hello I am on day 6, our whole church is doing it for 21 days, while studying Jentzen Franklins fasting book
the site that has been most helpful to me is www.ultimatedanielfast.com/
I have made some of the dishes from this site
  • Bulgar Chili was my family's absolute favorite when our church did the Daniel's fast. The texture of the bulgar is very similar to ground beef, so my husband even loved it and he hates missing out on meat!

    1 cup water
    3/4 tsp salt, divided
1/2 cup coarse whole wheat bulgar
    2T vegetable oil
    1 cup chopped onion
    1 cup chopped green pepper
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 1/2 T chili powder
    2 tbs oregano
    2 tbs paprika
    1 tbs cumin
2 cans whole peeled tomato, undrained (14 oz cans)
2 cans pinto beans (16 oz cans)

    Directions
In a medium saucepan: Bring 1/4 tsp salt and water to a boil. Add bulgar and return to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes until water is absorbed. Set aside.

In a large skillet: Heat oil. Saute onion, green pepper, and garlic until onions are soft. Add chili powder, oregano, paprika, and cumin. Stir until oil is absorbed. Stir in tomatoes, beans, bulgar and remaining 1/2 tsp salt. Simmer 20 minutes.

As well we enjoy Black Bean and Corn Soup (crock pot recipe):

Mix the following in crock pot and cook on high for 3 hours, plus 1-2 hours on low:
11 oz corn (we use frozen)
2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can mexican style stewed tomatoes
    1 can diced tomatoes
    2 T chili powder
    1 tsp ground cumin
    1/2 tsp dried minced garlic
