What tests should I request? Metabolism question...

I have my annual physical next month, and just received the paperwork for bloodwork. I see all kinds of metabolic testing options on the form, but they arent checked. If I want my doc to really dive into the damage Ive done to my metabolism by yo-yoing for soooo long, what tests should I ask for? I have a history of REALLY high cholesterol (think: 300s), but I dont see the "full cholesterol" box checked.

ANyone who has gone to their doc or a nutiritionst for a metabolic "work-up", what tests do you suggest I have done to find out what my body needs more of (vitmain-wise) or what I need to focus on the most?

Thanks!

I asked my doctor about these things and she said the metabolism and hormone testing is difficult to do because they change so much depending on the time of day that she recommended only doing the thyroid. She said if the thyroid comes back normal, everything else can be considered normal in regards to metabolism and hormones.

The standard ones for diabetes along with the thyroid tests. Maybe test the cortisol if you have a large belly area. Doing a B and D test wouldn't hurt either.
